Sesame chicken |
Ingredients:

1 | chicken | (about 3 1/2 lbs) |
2 | pieces | of 1/4 inch ginger |
1 | tsp | salt |
1/2 | tsp | 5 spice |
1 | tbsp | dark soy sauce |
1/4 | tsp | pepper |
For the glaze |
1/4 | tsp | ground ginger |
1 | tbsp | soy sauce |
1 | tbsp | sesame oil |
1 | tbsp | peanut oil. |

Method: |
Place chicken in pot and cover with cold water, add the the root ginger, salt, spice, soy sauce and pepper. |
Bring to boil and simmer for 15 minutes. |
Cool chicken in the stock, drain and cut into serving pieces (do it the Chinese way with a cleaver). |
Then reassemble in the form of the chook. |
Combine the glaze in a very small pot. |
Heat until just boiled. Then brush it over the chicken pieces and sprinkle 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds over. |
